Leslie Harvey, LPC

Leslie Harvey, MEd., LPCC, LPC

Leslie is a native El Pasoan who returned to El Paso from Maui, Hawaii after extensive practical field research on human behavior. Leslie’s travels throughout all of the United States, Canada and Europe have enriched her perspective that is translated and evident in her approach to psychotherapy. Soon after Leslie’s return to El Paso she began graduate school at Sul Ross State University and completed a Master of Education in Clinical Counseling in 2011. Leslie brings a history of working within a local mental health facility in an adolescent unit and after some time transitioned to the adult, acute unit within the same mental health hospital. Leslie then began working in community mental health in New Mexico for the next several years. Leslie completed her training in evidence-based treatment for trauma- EMDR/Bilateral Stimulation in 2014. During her time working in Community Mental Health in New Mexico Leslie served as a Coordinator for the New Mexico Sexual Assault Coalition for five years. Leslie additionally worked with adult probationers within the state and federal justice system. She launched and oversaw evidence based treatment for substance use with probationers. Leslie also worked closely within Juvenile Justice and developed programming for adolescents on probation. Leslie utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy that supports empathy, tolerance and suspension of judgment. Leslie does enjoy expressive art and providing therapy to the most vulnerable population- children. Leslie has been working toward attaining a certification as a Registered Play Therapist in order to support children who have suffered traumatic events, are children of divorcing or separating families. Leslie possesses extensive court experience that lends to an expert understanding within family court and the challenges families face within civil court.

Self-care – time with family and friends, gardening, hiking and exploring through travel, self-improvement, and honing her craft by continued research of human behavior and the human brain.

Joe Ayoub, LPC

Joe Ayoub, MSW, LCSW-S, LCDC

Joe Ayoub is a native El Pasoan. Joe Ayoub graduated with his BA in Sociology at the University of North Texas, in Denton, TX. In 2008, Joe returned to the southwest and attended graduate school at New Mexico State University, where he obtained his Masters of Social Work in 2011. Since graduating, Joe has continued to immerse himself in developing his craft and exploring different therapeutic theories and interventions. He worked in community mental health starting in 2011, and remained working with vulnerable populations within rural communities up until 2017. In 2015 through his hard work, Joe was promoted to clinical director of a behavioral health clinic in Anthony, NM. After working in administration, Joe realized his passion was in serving others, and made the decision to work once again as a therapist. Joe’s approach to therapy is humanistic, empathic, and encouraging. His therapeutic orientation is more person centered than anything else; however, Joe does borrow from other well known evidenced based theories as well. Joe has achieved to become a board approved supervisor in Texas and New Mexico. His goal is to help guide, encourage, and develop future social workers to become fantastic therapists within our communities. In 2017, Joe was trained in EMDR level I and II (an evidenced based psychotherapy intervention for trauma), and was enthralled with the results he witnessed. In 2019, Joe became certified in EMDR, and is passionate about treating all populations to aid in relief from trauma symptoms. Joe is now considered a consultant in training in regards to EMDR, and his goal is to become an EMDR consultant in the near future.

Coping Skills/ Self Care efforts- Playing musical instruments and creating music, weight lifting, walking, reading, and making time for family and friends is very important.
